The speed at which a battery can be charged, or the speed at which a charging point can supply power to your car. Higher power ratings can charge your battery quicker. Anything less than 7kW is a slow charger. 7kW to 22kW are called fast chargers, though it might not feel like while you wait. 43kW or more is called rapid charging.
It is worth noting that a car’s charging rate will drop when the battery gets close to full. It will probably only charge at a fraction of the maximum rate if the battery is cold.
